The application window for the 2018 Student and Teacher Opportunity Grants are open. Final submission deadline is midnight May 18, 2018. 

Grants will be awarded in two categories:

STUDENT GRANTS ($500) -- Applicants should send an email or letter including

  • Name - Birthdate - Home Address - Email Address - Telephone Number
  • 300-500 word essay. Silverton Opportunity seeks creative pieces that speak about the importance of having women in leadership, and how they hope to help empower themselves and others after they leave school. Essays should talk about post-high school plans, and how this grant would help them toward their goals. See past recipient page for ideas.

TEACHER GRANTS ($500) -- Silver Falls School District teachers should send an email or letter to Silverton Opportunity which includes:

  • Name - School - Grade/Specialty - Email Address - Telephone Number - Home Address
  • Project proposal (no word limit). Silverton Opportunity seeks to help teachers foster greater leadership and equity in the classroom. Grant money can help fund programs, outreach, equipment, curriculums, guest teachers or speakers, field trips, or whatever creative and inclusive project teachers would like to see in their classrooms.
